Yellow canaries are the focus of my new series. My grandma gave me her canary when I was a child and I loved hearing its song. Canaries are songbirds and will sing when they are happy but are quiet when they are unhappy. I use the canary in my work as a symbol to speak up for yourself and speak up against stereotypes.
